About me

"A good painting to me has always been like a friend. It keeps me company, comforts and inspires" - Hedy Lamarr

Welcome to a short trip to my creations – paintings I made over a period of time, paintings that reflect my passion
for the art, paintings I expect would give me a strong footing professionally. I have displayed a few of my paintings in this blog to share with you all. I will try my best to make your every visit to this blog fresh by updating with my current projects.

I am a Mumbai based artist, now living in The United States Of America. After completing my M.Com & MBA in Finance, I chose to take up painting as my full-time profession. Painting has always been part of my life and now it has become the most important one. I would always be thankful to my Guru Mrs. Neelam Hemrajani, who not only helped in fine-tuning my painting skills but also helped me think big in the painting world.

Eventually, I would like to use this platform to share my thoughts and experiences with painting and related topics
and invite enthusiastic folks to share their opinions too. This effort I am sure will be a small contribution from my side to the big ocean of art. I would also like to get in touch with like minded people, artists, and connoisseurs of art through this forum, share ideas and promote mutual learning.

I would encourage you to contact me at reena.pch@gmail.com

Macaw- AVAILABLE

Macaw 4 feet X 4 feet, Acrylic on Canvas.
“There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it”- Edith Wharton.
I just want to be the mirror that reflects the beauty of colours. 💗💗💗

Rooster - AVAILABLE

Slinging a little paint around 🎨
Rooster,48”x48” Acrylic on Canvas.
Late last evening I started this new piece and got done with it. For me to get into the deeply focused creative zone and make this kind of progress on a large scale painting in one day: 1 hour 40 mins to be precise 😌, I shut off all digital distractions and reach for my paint brushes instead of opening my laptop/phone- which inevitably eats up hours of the day which I could be painting..
I’m enjoying this method of painting once in awhile instead of my detailed Oil paintings. This technique is just splashing paints all over and going with the flow with whatever comes in mind at that moment and while also creating textures with-fingers, knife, back of the brush.. just about anything. 💕

Joker- AVAILABLE

JOB DONE.
Joker, Joaquin Phoenix 4feet x 5feet Acrylic and Oil on Canvas.
I painted this one because I loved the movie, I was touched by his acting performance and I really wanted to step away from my usual work. What is it that so many people are drawn towards this character? At the end of the day it is an image of a scary looking clown.
Nevertheless, thank you Joker. You really put a smile on my face the last time I watched you on screen.💗

Acrylic on Canvas

4 feet x 5feet, Acrylic on Canvas.
Art is my therapist, my favorite teacher and greatest love. Art has taught me so many valuable lessons about patience, commitment and most importantly self- acceptance. Every piece I create has part of my soul, my insecurities, my strength and my heart.
Never ever give up on your dreams. If you think you can’t, you won’t. I changed my inner monologue and the universe responded. Go for it. Take the risk. Tell that person. Ask for exactly what you want. Commit. I promise it’s worth it ❤️

The feeling of Ecstasy - AVAILABLE

24”x36”, ‘ The feeling of Ecstasy’-Oil on canvas.
The pursuit of being fully immersed in a moment, of sensation.. the feeling of water, the warmth of the sun penetrating closed eyes. A moment and the contrasted reality that this moment is captured forever in paint.
For me, painting is liberating.. it’s freeing, it’s about finding the flow and the energy of life with color, it’s not about existing within the lines.

Ganesha - AVAILABLE

Ganesha, 48”x60” Oil on canvas- AVAILABLE.
There is no universal rule book in art that determines one true method of the creative process, nor is there a rule book showing a hierarchy of universal quality. There are many books teaching many opinions on both topics.. Art is entirely subjective. So trust YOUR instincts, have no fear and let loose with your creations.

Horse (framed), Available.

For my love/obsession for horses and towards what I do in my daily life; I knew what I exactly wanted when I started to sketch this dude. Yes, it’s a sketch and not a painting. I wanted to try something different from what I usually do. And I’m so glad I did it.
As insane as all those hair were, it was so cathartic ðŸ–¤
This piece is available for purchase.

Rajnikanth - SOLD

Rajnikanth a.k.a Thalaiva, 36”x36” Oil & acrylic on Canvas- SOLD.
How do you know when something is finished?...it’s finished when YOU get that spine tingling feeling. When YOU feel that it says just enough to spark an idea but not too much that suffocates imagination. When you would hang it on YOUR wall. When it makes YOU smile. When it makes YOU think.
That’s when you stop, that’s when it’s finished. Because if it truly speaks to you in a powerful way, chances are it’s going to speak to someone else with that same power.
Don’t chase opinions, chase your own voice.
