About me

"A good painting to me has always been like a friend. It keeps me company, comforts and inspires" - Hedy Lamarr

Welcome to a short trip to my creations – paintings I made over a period of time, paintings that reflect my passion
for the art, paintings I expect would give me a strong footing professionally. I have displayed a few of my paintings in this blog to share with you all. I will try my best to make your every visit to this blog fresh by updating with my current projects.

I am a Mumbai based artist, now living in The United States Of America. After completing my M.Com & MBA in Finance, I chose to take up painting as my full-time profession. Painting has always been part of my life and now it has become the most important one. I would always be thankful to my Guru Mrs. Neelam Hemrajani, who not only helped in fine-tuning my painting skills but also helped me think big in the painting world.

Eventually, I would like to use this platform to share my thoughts and experiences with painting and related topics
and invite enthusiastic folks to share their opinions too. This effort I am sure will be a small contribution from my side to the big ocean of art. I would also like to get in touch with like minded people, artists, and connoisseurs of art through this forum, share ideas and promote mutual learning.

I would encourage you to contact me at reena.pch@gmail.com

'Tulip' - SOLD

12" X 12" Oil on canvas. Tulips are popping up everywhere these days: in pots at the supermarket, in bins on street corners and growing in neat rows in suburban landscapes. So my latest inspiration was to paint this bright colored flower Tulip on my canvas. This painting is up for ‪#‎sale‬

Abstract

12" X 12" Acrylic on canvas. This is an abstract painting with no intended meaning to it. I have used gold colored cones and some mirrors to give this painting a touch of fabric like texture. These small sized paintings make excellent decorative art works, specially on a white wall. These paintings are available in different sizes and also in bulk.

Ballet Dancer

12" X 12" Oil on Canvas. This painting depicts a ballet dancer in one of her poses. This is a small and ready to hang painting.

Daniel Craig

8" X 12" Oil on canvas portrait of the actor Daniel Craig.

The Buddha - SOLD

I have been asked my many if I follow Buddhism? This question doesn't come to me as a surprise as I have collected quite a few Buddha statues from my travels. I get a sense of rest, calm, peace and depth when working on his paintings. But the real connection still remains a mystery to me. Meanwhile, I would like to share a quote on Buddhism which reads, 'We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. WIth our thoughts, we make the world'. I am happy & love being in my world filled with colors. I hope that each one of you is making the most out of the world you live in. Also a little about this painting: 12" X 12" Oil on canvas. I tried using a new texture technique using my brush instead of the usual palette knife.

Sumukha - An auspicious face ~ SOLD

This is a 40" X 40" painting of Lord Ganesha. I have used Oil paints as a primary medium to paint this picture and have also used semi-precious stones to enhance the jewelllery he has worn. Lord ganesha is known to have 108 names, I have chosen to name this painting as 'Sumukha' which in Sanskrit means 'One who has an auspicious face'.
