About me

"A good painting to me has always been like a friend. It keeps me company, comforts and inspires" - Hedy Lamarr

Welcome to a short trip to my creations – paintings I made over a period of time, paintings that reflect my passion
for the art, paintings I expect would give me a strong footing professionally. I have displayed a few of my paintings in this blog to share with you all. I will try my best to make your every visit to this blog fresh by updating with my current projects.

I am a Mumbai based artist, now living in The United States Of America. After completing my M.Com & MBA in Finance, I chose to take up painting as my full-time profession. Painting has always been part of my life and now it has become the most important one. I would always be thankful to my Guru Mrs. Neelam Hemrajani, who not only helped in fine-tuning my painting skills but also helped me think big in the painting world.

Eventually, I would like to use this platform to share my thoughts and experiences with painting and related topics
and invite enthusiastic folks to share their opinions too. This effort I am sure will be a small contribution from my side to the big ocean of art. I would also like to get in touch with like minded people, artists, and connoisseurs of art through this forum, share ideas and promote mutual learning.

I would encourage you to contact me at reena.pch@gmail.com

A bag full of apples

A bag full of apples, Acrylic on Paper. It is one thing to paint an apple and a whole new game to paint a few of them in a bag. A quick 30 min acrylic painting to work in between my oil paintings.

White Horse

12"×12" Oil on Canvas. There is something very enigmatic about painting a horse. I never know before I start a painitng what the end result will be. The magic is in the creative journey along the way!

Bee

"Painting is a blind man's profession. He paints not what he sees, but what he feels, what he tells himself about what he has seen"- Pablo Picasso. Being an Oil painter, water colors are not my forte. But it feels good to get back to basics from where I started and specially when I had a bee come visit me today which inspired me to capture him on my water color pad.

Still Life

Still life, 12"x12" Oil on Canvas. My first ever attempt at painting a glass jar. Never really thought painting a glass would be such a challenge. I managed to finish this painting in 1 hour 40 minutes, which later gave me an idea to capture a time lapse video of such small paintings on camera :)

Wild Spider

A quick, fun 3D drawing of a wild spider! It could have been anywhere in the woods and gotten killed, instead it's going to be on my drawing paper for as long as it wants :)

Name Plate

Every home needs a name - I just made a name plate for myself. Get yours made the way it suits your house/business. The pictures shown are before and after completion. It is done on a piece of wood and finished off with varnish to make it weather proof.
