About me

"A good painting to me has always been like a friend. It keeps me company, comforts and inspires" - Hedy Lamarr

Welcome to a short trip to my creations – paintings I made over a period of time, paintings that reflect my passion
for the art, paintings I expect would give me a strong footing professionally. I have displayed a few of my paintings in this blog to share with you all. I will try my best to make your every visit to this blog fresh by updating with my current projects.

I am a Mumbai based artist, now living in The United States Of America. After completing my M.Com & MBA in Finance, I chose to take up painting as my full-time profession. Painting has always been part of my life and now it has become the most important one. I would always be thankful to my Guru Mrs. Neelam Hemrajani, who not only helped in fine-tuning my painting skills but also helped me think big in the painting world.

Eventually, I would like to use this platform to share my thoughts and experiences with painting and related topics
and invite enthusiastic folks to share their opinions too. This effort I am sure will be a small contribution from my side to the big ocean of art. I would also like to get in touch with like minded people, artists, and connoisseurs of art through this forum, share ideas and promote mutual learning.

I would encourage you to contact me at reena.pch@gmail.com

Avaneesh - Lord of the whole world.

I dream, I believe and I create. My newest painting is this Oil painting of Ganesha standing tall at 4 feet x 3 feet. I have always believed that He works miraculously in his own wondrous ways. I am an ardent devotee of Lord Ganesha. Though I had a reference picture of him while I was painting, this painting is my vision of Him. Look closely and you will see Ganesha smiling at you. When you are worried and are looking for answers, look at him and you will see him communicating to you. Maybe it is my blinded belief in him, but I seek all my answers in Him. This portrait is now for sale. I am sure it is going to be a great addition to your home and the happiness that it can bring to you is just priceless. Anybody wanting more information can contact me through email/text (only serious enquiries please).

SECRETARIAT , 36" x 48" Oil on Canvas

I absolutely love working on large pieces. Stepping away from human faces and landscapes challenged me to capture the energy of this magnificent, powerful animal. Driving through the country roads, I came across some most beautiful horses that the State of Virginia is known for. That's when I decided that I need to get one of them on my canvases and what better name than the award winning horse - SECRETARIAT. Drop in a line and let me know how do you find this painting

This is a 30"x36" oil on canvas. It is a Tanjore painting which is done in a specific process using chalk powder and decorative pearls, mirrors and gold foils. These types of paintings are usually found in South Indian Temples. It involes a lot of detailed work and takes a good amount of time. The outcome is very satisfying though.
